Over on Patreon I’m giving my Patreon backers the opportunity to help shape the last 70 illustrations in the Star Trek 365 project. They’re each getting one episode / scene to put forward (with some ground rules) and I’m going to work my way through them with occasional breaks to follow my own ideas. A […]
I mean, this isn’t really my ship, and you’re not really my captain, and yet you are, and there’s no difference. But I know there’s a difference. Or is there? It’s all a little weird. I love this quote from Janeway to describe Harry’s mixed feelings over being from an alternate reality. It’s a wry […]
The last of my 2017 commission pieces! I’m not a massive fan of doing so many crew pieces together, I get a bit angsty about the poses and feel like I need to vary them. So I’ve got a bunch of group photo poses that I’ll draw from and for Voyager I thought I’d try […]
I hope Captain Janeway was reunited with Mollie. I’m sure it’s mentioned in one of the books but it’s been ages since I’ve read them.
I did what I knew was right. It feels weird drawing more women of Star Trek after having finished the set only a week and a bit ago! I think this is all of my outstanding sketch card commissions – I’ve got a bunch though still to do for my Patreon backers and some standalone material.
Captain Kathryn Janeway – Women of Star Trek Sketch Card series 15/25Captain Janeway on the bridge of her ship. I didn’t want to do anything gimmicky with her and I held back her coffee cup because I always include it. She’s simply an amazing character and a truly great Captain.
Whilst I’m not the biggest fan of the holodeck episodes I do love the aesthetics of Captain Proton, especially Satan’s Robot and I thought this might be a fun one to do completely in greyscale. That said I could have always painted in proper colours and just greyscaled it in Photoshop to achieve the authentic […]
I don’t know why but I really liked this episode and thought that this shot was framed really well. I have a feeling that my scanner is not long for this world, it’s a V600 Epson and it has been a workhorse for me. Everyone says it’s one of the best for watercolours and that […]
Wow, one hundred and fifty Star Trek illustrations. Where has the year gone? What I enjoyed most about doing this one on the big A3 paper is that all the people in it are still tiny, they’re smaller than I usually draw them on A4 paper LOL. I’ve actually done an illustration like this in […]
I just realised that I should have posted this yesterday for some sort of cosmic balance but I didn’t think of it at the time and I had Homecoming slated anyway. I always remembered this episode as dumb and gimmicky but upon rewatching it recently it’s a lot stronger an episode than I remembered, or […]
